![]() ![]() The frame is tightly foliate scroll engraved, however the engraving on the underside of the frame is lost due to cleaning and the engraving along the sides has softened as well the engraving along the top of the frame and on the fences remains largely intact. The checkered straight grip walnut stock is in very good plus condition with scattered light handling marks, robust checkering and is a contemporary replacement, and the splinter-style forend is in very good condition with an old slender chip on the right side near the tip, a few light handling marks, and is original to the shotgun the buttstock features a checkered butt and an about 3/4'' monogram plate which shows light wear. The frame has been cleaned to bright with small spots of light oxidation and pinprick pitting on the grasping area, and the triggerguard and side lever retain about 98% reapplied blue with specks of light oxidation and previous light pitting beneath the finish. The barrels retain about 98% later reapplied blue finish with a small wear mark on the left barrel near the breech, scattered specks of light oxidation, and scattered previous light pitting beneath the finish. Serial #5320, 16 ga, 28'' sleeved barrels choked full with bright excellent bores.
